France | Gender Pay Index

In France, every employer of a company with over 50 employees must calculate and publish an index of professional pay equality between women and men.

The index is designed as a tool to help end inequalities in the workplace. This system concerns companies, associations and trade unions.

Every year on March 1st, employers must publish their index score on their official website (or transmit it to employees by other means). The employer must also communicate the details of the different indicators to the Works Council and to the labor inspector.

Our 2022 Results

A decree dated February 25, 2022 requires employers with an overall score of less than 85 points on the gender equality index to publish improvement targets for each of the indicators that did not obtain the maximum score.

Vialto Société d’Avocats obtained a score of 84/100.

The actions that will continue to be implemented are the following

In order to respect equal pay for women and men, the company ensures:

  • That men and women receive a hiring salary determined according to grade and area of expertise to the exclusion of any other gender-related consideration
  • That employees’ bonuses are not affected by absences due to maternity leave, paternity leave, medical leave and adoption leave
  • That part-time employees or employees who have been granted part-time status are not discriminated against in appraisal or salary review committees
  • Support from the HR team during appraisal committees and salary reviews to ensure compliance with the principles of non-discrimination

The action plan has been transmitted to the Vialto Société d’Avocats’ Works Council. This plan will be published on the Vialto website on the same page as the results of the Index and its indicators, and transmitted to the DREETS.
