Every year new immigration updates are introduced by the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI), and this year is no different.
We are happy to share with you SIRI’s newest updates concerning the topics below:
In order to meet the requirements for a residence and work permit under the Pay Limit Schemes and the Fast Track Scheme’s Pay Limit tracks, it is among other conditions, a requirement that the offered salary needs to meet the pay limit amount. The pay limit amount is subject to regulation every year.
The pay limit has been regulated this year and the new increased pay limit will apply to applications submitted from 1 January 2025 under the Pay Limit Schemes and the Fast track Scheme’s Pay Limit tracks.
The new pay limit for applications submitted under the Pay Limit Schemes is DKK 514,000 per year.
While the new pay limit for applications submitted under the Supplementary Pay Limit Scheme, and the Fast Track Scheme’s Supplementary Pay Limit track is DKK 415,000 per year.
SIRI uses the salary statistics of the Danish Employers’ Association (DA) in their case processing to assess whether an offered salary is ordinary in accordance with Danish standards.
The salary statistics get updated every quarter. SIRI will be using the newest salary statistics with information from the third quarter of 2024 for all applications submitted from 1 January 2025.
The salary statistics can be found here.
Foreigners must pay a governmental fee in connection to applications that are submitted within SIRI’s case area. In general the governmental fee is regulated every year as the governmental fee must reflect the actual costs associated with the case processing.
The governmental fees for applications for residence permits submitted within SIRI’s case area has decreased in 2025 compared to 2024.
Please see the table below.
Governmental fees in DKK | ||
New governmental fees | 2024 | 2025 |
Applications for work permits | 6.290 | 6.055 |
Applications for study permits | 2.490 | 2.255 |
Au pair and interns | 4.740 | 4.210 |

An amendment to the Danish Aliens Act means that SIRI as per 1 January 2025 can request people who are assessed to be working for a company during an inspection to show their identification.
The new amendment means that SIRI will have a better opportunity to check whether a foreign employee holds a valid residence and work permit, and whether the conditions for the residence and work permit have been complied with.
SIRI has updated the Positive Lists. The new lists will take effect from 1 January 2025 and can be found here.
