Luxembourg | A 2.6% increase in minimum social wage as from 1 January 2025

Summary

As from January 2025, the minimum wage in Luxembourg increases as follows:

  • Qualified workers (academic or professional experience): the minimum wage increases from EUR 3,085.11 gross per month to EUR 3,165.35 gross per month.
  • Non-qualified workers: the minimum wage increases from EUR 2,570.93 gross per month to EUR 2,637.79 gross per month.

What this means

The new salary threshold is applicable to new employees but also to employees already working in Luxembourg.

Work permit for EU ICT

The minimum wage increases from EUR 3,085.11 gross per month to EUR to EUR 3,165.35 gross per month.

Work permit for salaried workers

  • Qualified workers (academic or professional experience): the minimum wage increases from EUR 3,085.11 gross per month to EUR 3,165.35 gross per month.
  • Non-qualified workers: the minimum wage increases from EUR 2,570.93 gross per month to EUR 2,637.79 gross per month.

Work permit for EU Blue Card

As of July 2024, the minimum salary for an EU Blue Card in Luxembourg is the average gross annual salary, which is EUR 58,968. The average gross annual salary does not follow the course of the index but is published annually in the “Journal official du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg”. Therefore, a new threshold applicable as from 1 st January 2025 should be published soon.
