Effective 1 October 2025, holders of Employee Cards will benefit from an extended period of 90 days (up from 60 days) to apply for approval of a new employer with the Ministry of the Interior after employment termination or job loss.
This change offers greater flexibility and security for foreign employees navigating job transitions, allowing more time to find new opportunities without jeopardizing their legal status. Please note, this extension applies only to Employee Card holders and does not affect foreigners with free access to the Czech labour market.
