Effective 1 June 2026, businesses in Vietnam must use the company’s corporate electronic identification account (VNeID) to submit immigration application documents online. Personal accounts and other authentication methods, including the company’s USB e-token, are no longer accepted.
All businesses operating in Vietnam must register for and obtain a corporate electronic identification (“VNeID”) to access government platforms and public service portals for administrative procedures and online public services. This requirement forms part of the government’s broader digital transformation agenda and supports national data security standards.
Effective 1 June 2026, sponsoring entities must have a valid VNeID to access immigration-related public services. As implemented by the Vietnam Immigration Department, immigration application documents must now be submitted online using the company’s VNeID account, and other authentication methods, such as a company USB e-token, are no longer accepted.
Businesses that have not yet registered and activated a VNeID should do so immediately, as any delay may disrupt their ability to complete immigration procedures online.
Affected procedures include the following:
· Visa applications and amendments, including new visa applications and changes to existing visas
· Temporary residence cards, including new applications and reissuance
· Other immigration-related public services, administered through immigration platforms
· Businesses in Vietnam that have not yet obtained a company VNeID should prioritise registration and confirm that all corporate information held by the authorities is accurate and current.
· The company’s legal representative must obtain a Level 2 VNeID before using it to complete the company’s VNeID registration.
· Delays in registering the company VNeID may interrupt access to online government systems used for immigration filings.
· The Department of Home Affairs may extend the VNeID requirement to work permit-related matters in due course.
We will continue to monitor developments and provide updates on any further changes.
