USCIS updated their policy and guidance for filing the Form I-693, Report of Immigration Medical Examination and Vaccination Record. They will no longer send Requests for Evidence or deny a Form I-485, Adjustment of Status application on the basis of not providing proof of a COVID-19 vaccination.
Form I-693 no longer requires proof of a COVID-19 vaccination
The Form I-693, Report of Immigration Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, is a medical evaluation form that is submitted with the Form I-485, Adjustment of Status application. As of January 22nd, 2025, USCIS has waived all requirements for applicants, who are requesting an adjustment of status to a lawful permanent resident, to show proof of receiving the COVID-19 vaccination. Previously, on their Form I-693, applicants needed to show that they had received the COVID-19 vaccination, before submitting the form along with the Form I-485. If they had not provided proof of a COVID vaccination, USCIS would issue a Request for Evidence or a Notice of Intent to Deny on the Adjustment of Status application. As of January 22nd, USCIS will not deny any Adjustment of Status application based on the applicantʼs failure to present documentation that they received the COVID-19 vaccination.
Going forward, USCIS will not deny or request further evidence from Adjustment of Status applicants for not providing proof of a COVID-19 vaccination.
