Impact on the Romanian gross minimum wage

The Romanian government has approved an increase in the gross minimum wage from 3,300 lei to 3,700 lei, effective from July 1, 2024.

These provisions do not apply to the sectors of construction and agricultural, as well as to the food industry, for which the applicable minimum wage is the one corresponding to the regulation establishing it, i.e., the general minimum wage according to O.U.G. no.93/2023.

Additionally, the tax waiver for 300 lei out of the 3,700 lei minimum wage will continue, aimed to reduce the financial burden on companies. This change is expected to impact both employees and businesses significantly.
