Immigration
Qatar | New electronic attestation service
Summary
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has launched a new electronic document attestation services through its portal.
The detail
The new service provides electronic attestation for local police certificates issued by the Ministry of Interior and for educational certificates issued by government schools that have been authenticated by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
It will enable individuals to electronically attest documents instantly and around the clock, eliminating the need to visit the attestation section at the Department of Consular Affairs or the Government Service Centres.
To utilise the new services, individuals will need to login to the e-services section under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs portal (www.mofa.gov.qa), using their National Authentication System “NAS” credentials.
The documents delivery and collection procedures will be in cooperation with Qatar Post and the Government Contact Center (109).
What this means
The new system aligns with the digitisation of the Government services as per Qatar National Vision 2030 and will reduce physical visits to the Government centres, as well as expedite the document legalisation procedures. In turn, this will assist with the overall Immigration process for certain categories.
How can we help
The document attestation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is an important step for certain Immigration services, such as the Labour Card and Foreign Visa application requests. Our dedicated team can provide guidance on the steps involved in the electronic attestation procedures.
We anticipate additional electronic services to be introduced by the Government and we will monitor and report on any further developments.
