The Chinese government has recently revised the Regulations of the People’s Republic of China on Administration of the Entry and Exit of Foreigners, introducing a new K-visa category for young foreign professionals in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The policy will take effect on October 1, 2025.

The specific eligibility requirements, application procedures, and system updates for the K-visa are currently being finalized. The Chinese government will release these details through official channels, including Chinese embassy and consulate websites, in the near future. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Exit-Entry Administration of the Ministry of Public Security will subsequently issue guidelines regarding K-visa extensions, renewals, and reissuance procedures within China and stay and residence regulations for admitted young STEM professionals.
