Argentina | Legal Resolution No. 316/2025—visa exemption for Chinese and Dominican nationals

Summary

On 21 July 2025, the Argentine government enacted a new Legal Resolution, introducing a visa exemption for Chinese and Dominican nationals holding valid U.S. tourism or business visas. These individuals may now enter Argentina without requiring a consular visa or Electronic Travel Authorization (AVE), under specific conditions.

The detail

The Ministry of Interior, through the Legal Resolution No. 316/2025 established that Chinese and Dominican nationals are authorized to enter Argentina without a consular visa or AVE, provided they hold a valid and current visa for the United States.

It is important to mention that under the new policy, Dominican nationals may enter Argentina visa-free strictly for tourism, with a maximum stay of up to 90 days, and Chinese nationals qualify for both tourism and business travel, with an initial stay of up to 30 days. This type of visa may be extended for the same period and only one time.

In addition, the regulation establishes that travelers admitted under this policy cannot change their immigration status once in Argentina.
