Global work is complex. Our clients and the individuals they move across borders rely on Vialto for timely advice, delivered with professional judgment and accountability. AI (artificial intelligence) is becoming a meaningful part of how we deliver that—but only within a framework of professional judgment, human oversight, and clear accountability.
This page explains what we use AI for, how we govern it, and what our clients and their people can expect when AI is part of how we work.

AI is a tool that supports our work. It is not a substitute for the professional expertise and judgment of our people.
Vialto’s use of AI technologies is governed by the following principles, which apply across our services, products, and internal operations.
AI technologies are not used to make decisions about clients or the individuals we serve without appropriate human involvement. Our professionals review, validate, and remain responsible for all AI-assisted outputs. Decisions involving the delivery of our services are made or reviewed by qualified people and are not delegated to AI systems acting alone. Human review is intended to assess the appropriateness of AI-generated outputs and to support fair, responsible, and reliable use of AI technologies.
Vialto’s AI use is supported by a formal governance framework that establishes oversight, accountability, and risk management requirements for AI technologies.
Where personal data is processed using AI technologies, Vialto uses enterprise-licensed instances and engages providers under appropriate contractual, security, and data protection safeguards that support our data protection obligations. Personal data is not used to train external AI models.
We are committed to transparency regarding our use of AI technologies. Where AI is used in the delivery of our services, appropriate human review and oversight remain in place.
AI use at Vialto is designed to comply with applicable laws and regulations, including data protection laws, AI-related regulations such as the EU AI Act, and relevant professional conduct obligations across the jurisdictions in which we operate. Our approach is also informed by recognized AI governance, risk management, and information security frameworks.
AI technology is evolving rapidly. Our governance framework is reviewed regularly to ensure our approach keeps pace with technological change, regulatory developments, and the expectations of our clients and the individuals we serve.
Our governance framework
Vialto’s approach to AI governance is led by the AI Council, chaired by the chief legal officer and comprising specific members of Vialto’s executive leadership team. The AI Council is supported by the AI Governance SteerCo, which evaluates AI systems from a strategic, technical, legal, privacy, and security standpoint before formal recommendation to the AI Council. AI technologies are deployed and managed within Vialto’s information security management system, which is certified to ISO/IEC 27001. Our approach is designed to promote transparency, fairness, accountability, privacy and security, reliability, and responsible human oversight throughout the AI lifecycle.
