Summary
The General Coordination of Labour Immigration has delayed the procedural analysis due to the increased demand for work.
The Detail
Authorization of Residence processes submitted for analysis by the General Coordination of Immigration have been delayed upon approvals, due to the high demand for work. Usually, the applications receive a final response within 30 calendar days, however, with the past few weeks this deadline has been extended for a longer period, which causes the curiosity of immigrants and their legal representatives in the sudden change of deadlines as per pre-agreed. Likewise, when necessary to adapt to a greater flow of demands, the Public Administration has the power to extend the pre-agreed deadlines.
What this means
Immigrants whose processes are still being analysed by the General Coordination of Immigration are expected to have a consequent delay in starting/renewing their terms of residence in Brazil, having completed the due diligences. Thus, it is important to publicize this fact so that the companies involved in the process of arrival/renewal of immigrants’ residences can adapt the due schedules
